Full Scale Emergency Drill On The George Washington Bridge







Washington Heights/Fort Lee -  The lower level of the George Washington Bridge was closed from Saturday night until Sunday morning in regards to a full-scale emergency response drill.

The NYPD, FDNY, Fort Lee, Englewood Cliffs, and Bergen County police departments along with the New Jersey State Police, FBI, and Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department participated in the drill, also members of Queens and Washington Heights Hatzolah joined.


Port Authority simulated a fuel tanker explosion complete with crashed cars and emergency vehicles

The exercise is part of an ongoing series of drills designed to test and enhance response procedures.
