'War-Zone' In Sea Gate Community Caused By Hurricane Sandy [VIDEO}

On Monday night, Oct 29-30 Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast much worse then expected. We will not write up anything about it, though you can read about it on other news source websites which are full with articles, photos and videos.

There weren't really flooded streets in Monsey & Spring Valley which is in Rockland County. But the high winds ripped out trees and utility poles through the whole county.

As the Hurricane Sandy started to kick in in the area, NewYorkBuffMedia's Chief Editor Moishe Lichtenstein locked himself in his dark house to be with family while the storm was booming outside. When looked out of the window he saw, that everything was almost totally dark, the only light were seen here and there from explosions from electric transformers that blew up in the area.

Many NYCHA Residents Stay Put in East Harlem Despite Evacuation Order

Harlem - A police car parked outside the Isaacs Houses on First Avenue and 93rd Street on Sunday blasted an order through its loudspeakers that residents must evacuate, ahead of Hurricane Sandy.

Three school buses waited outside to transport people to shelters, but many residents of the houses, which are in the city's mandatory evacuation zone, said they planned to ride out the storm at home.

Falling Tree Injures Woman In Brooklyn

Greenpoint - A woman was struck by a tree during the windy approach of Hurricane Sandy Monday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.

The woman who’s reportedly in her 40s was struck just after 10 a.m. while in the backyard of 206 Freeman St., near McGuinness Boulevard, the FDNY said.
