Gas Leak And Fire At The Hickory Village Houses In Spring Valley

Spring Valley - Firefighters responded to the scene of a reported fire at the Hickory Village houses located at 254 North Main street, Monday afternoon.

Arriving firefighter advised command that they have a fire in the kitchen and also an active gas leak at the location.

They requested the Orange & Rockland utility company to shut the gas, and as well as the Spring Hill Ambulance Corp to standby at thew scene.

Man Killed In Brooklyn Apartment Fire

A man was killed Sunday in a fire in a Borough Park, Brooklyn apartment building.

The 59-year-old man was killed when the two-alarm fire broke out in a four-story apartment building on New Utrecht Avenue around 2 p.m. Sunday.

Dumpster Fire

Monsey: Monsey FD and Ramapo PD were on scene in the rear of 91 RT-59 for a dumpster fire. 

During the day the Monsey, Spring Valley and Tallman fire departments had around 30 calls for dumpster fires, since boys use it as an excuse for Lag BaOmer fires.
