Gas Leak And Fire At The Hickory Village Houses In Spring Valley
Spring Valley - Firefighters responded to the scene of a reported fire at the Hickory Village houses located at 254 North Main street, Monday afternoon.
Arriving firefighter advised command that they have a fire in the kitchen and also an active gas leak at the location.
They requested the Orange & Rockland utility company to shut the gas, and as well as the Spring Hill Ambulance Corp to standby at thew scene.

Woman Arrested For 2012 Hit-And-Run Death Of Kiryas Joel Employee.
The New York State Police in Monroe have arrested Blanca Romano- Morales (26) of Highland Mills, NY for “leaving the scene of an accident – injury resulting in death”, a class D Felony.
As reported on NewYorkBuffMedia on December 11, 2012 Anastacio Vasquez of Spring Valley, NY, wascollecting trash for the Village of Kiryas Joel Sanitation Department on Satmar Drive when he was struck by an unknown vehicle while attempting to cross the roadway and died at the scene.
A white mini-van was observed leaving the area after the crash. State Police conducted an extensive investigation and Romano-Morales was arrested on April 17, 2013 after the Orange County Grand Jury issued an Indictment ordering her arrest.
Romano-Morales was sent to Orange County Jail on $30,000.00 bail pending an appearance in Orange County Court.
