Construction worker killed in crane accident on the East Side

MANHATTAN — A construction worker has died after a crane crashed on the East Side just before noon Friday, according to FDNY.

Emergency crews responded to the scene of the accident that happened around 11:44 a.m. at 219 East 44th Street near Second Avenue.
Firefighters reportedly pulled the crane off the construction worker, who was confirmed dead at the scene.
