Dead Body Found in Bedroom Fire in Pomona

Pomona: The Hillcrest Fire Department was dispatched this morning for reports of smoke in the builing at the Palisades Garden complex located at 8 Chales Ln. and Darian Ct.


Upon arrival Firefighters at the scene reported they have a working fire in a bedroom and requested Mutual Aid from New City, Thiells, West Haverstraw, Stony Point and Monsey fire companies, as well as the Haverstraw Police Arson Unit.





As the search in the building was conducted,firefighters found one person DOA in the bedroom where the fire started.


A crime scene was established by the Haverstraw Police Department detectives. and the Rockland County Sheriff's Department BCI team who are curently also on scene.
One other civilian was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
