FDNY Battles Seven Alarm Fire In Brooklyn [VIDEO]

Brooklyn - A huge fire has been burning in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens area of Brooklyn today. A blaze that started on the roof of 665 New York Avenue around 10 a.m. quickly spread through the seven-story building until it was declared a 7-alarm fire a little before 2 p.m. That last alarm, however, was called for relief purposes: Though the fire appears to be under control now, a large number of firefighters were injured fighting the blaze.

According to the FDNY 27 people, mostly firefighters, have been injured and transported from the blaze. Their statuses are not currently clear though there have been reports that at least three of them are in serious condition. All in all, more than 220 firefighters were on the scene to fight the fire, which may have been started by a lightning strike.
