NYPD Holds Annual High Holy Days Briefing




Police Commissioner William Bratton Kelly presided over the NYPD’s annual High Holiday security briefing at One Police Plaza, Wednesday morning. Community leaders from all sects of the Jewish community were in attendance.

FDNY Members Thanked for Rescuing Brooklyn Boy








FDNY members were described as heroes on June 26 as the family of Mendy Gottlieb thanked the men and women who saved the 7-year-old boy when he was trapped in a roll-down gate on May 8.

Misaskim Hosts NYPD School Security Conference

On Wednesday, January 23rd, Misaskim hosted an NYPD conference for yeshivah and Bais Yaakov
school principles and administrators at the Hod V’Hadar hall in Boro Park. The meeting was called by
NYPD’s Brooklyn Borough South Assistant Chief Thomas Chan in light of the tragic school shooting
in Newton, Connecticut. The objective of the conference was to formulate a preparedness plan for
our schools in the event of a shooting emergency. In attendance were members of the local law-
enforcement community, New York City Councilman David Greenfield and other community leaders.

NYPD VIDEO: 2012 Youth Police Academy Class




New York City residents, attending school, between the ages of 10 and 16 are eligible to attend. The Youth Police Academy will provide those participating in the program with lunch and uniform shirts. 

The Youth Police Academy is a six (6) week program that will hold sessions five (5) days a week. The Academy will open at 8:30 am in the morning and dismissal will be 2:00 pm in the afternoon.

FDNY vs NYPD


Brooklyn - A team of FDNY members swept a stickball competition versus an NYPD team on Aug. 14 outside FDNY Headquarters in Brooklyn.

The FDNY team included Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano, First Deputy Commissioner Don Shacknai, Chief of Department Edward Kilduff, Chief of Operations Robert Sweeney, Deputy Chief Mark Cuccurollo, Deputy Chief Mark Ferran, Lt. Tim Reznick, Lt. Joe Reznick, FF Tim Reznick, and FF Jeff Ray, along with New York Daily News writer Denis Hamill and his son, Liam.

FDNY Appreciation Weekend At The Intrepid Museum [SLIDESHOW]


FDNY members gathered at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in Manhattan on July 14 and 15 to celebrate FDNY Appreciation Weekend.


Susan Marenoff-Zausner, President of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, added, “We want to teach the public about what you do on a daily basis. We at the Museum feel like we’re all family.”


The weekend celebration was kicked off by the 11th annual Blessing of the Fleet ceremony.

The maritime tradition included the blessing of many of the FDNY’s 20 vessels, which are responsible for more than 560 miles of New York City coastline and harbors.

RC Chaverim Annual Bike Registration

Monsey: The well known volunteer organization "Chaverim of Rockland County" held it's annual bike registration event on friday afternoon.

The reason of this event is to have all kids register their bikes by the Chaverim so at an event of which the bike would be stolen then found it could be returned to the right owner.

COC Safety Awareness Day

Monsey: A "Safety Awareness Day" took place on Thursday at the Community Outreach Center office on Melnick drive.


Like every year, hundred of children came to get their free helmet and were tought how to wear them, and the importance of safety while on  bikes and about safety all the time.
